Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey)

The Beatles drummer, nicknamed because he always wore rings, had the reputation of being the charismatic and funny Beatle. John and Paul would give him at least 1 song on every album, usuaully the more light hearted or childrens numbers like yellow submarine or octopus' garden. That is not to take anything away from them, some of Ringo's songs are my favourite. He replaced the original drummer Pete Best in the early Beatles days to the dismay of their early fans, but the choice turned out to be a good one.

In this design there is reference to the songs 'octopus' garden', 'goodnight', as well as Ringo's ring from the movie 'HELP' and his costume from the magical mystery tour album cover.

Wasn't Pete the guy who never turned up for their gigs in germany and ringo had to fill in anyway.
